Hey yall! Elena Here!
What a crazy summer! Wow! I am not sure if I’m still breathing or not! Just kidding, but I mean really! We are currently singing in Iowa and the weather here is making me want to linger a little longer! Today I wore a scarf for the second day in a row! #winning
As most of you know via IG, I vacay’d in Charleston SC this summer. It has easily become my favorite new place on the planet and I think after reading this, it may just become yours too! The goal of the trip was to celebrate 50 years of marriage with my grandparents. Want to re-read their love story? Click here
We traveled down from Monroeville AL into the sweet southern city on June 3rd and met up with family! I wish I could freeze those moments when we are all together.
We checked into the beautiful Hyatt Place Hotel right outside of the downtown area. It was a perfect place for all of us to stay and relax when we came in from the cobblestone streets.
DINNA!! SUPPER!! FOOD!!
We ate at some pretty amazing places too and you knew that already if you followed along on my snapchat. If you haven’t added me on snap, my user is pretty simple (ElenaDubbeld). I try to stay consistent on there while balancing the Instagram story as well.
Who doesn’t love food? The Brown Dog Deli was a really fun family lunch place we enjoyed. I think everyone’s favorite though was Virginia’s On King. They hit it out of the park with their customer service and we sure didn’t leave hungry. A great Gelato place we found was a little place called Belgian Gelato and it surpassed every ice cream dream I have ever had and they even served espresso drinks. #YAYASSS
ARE YOU THE TOURISTY TYPE?
Magnolia Plantation & Gardens was the most beautiful place. I wish I could sit down and show you all of the photos or better yet just plan a trip to go back. The history woven into the home as well as the generations of labor that has gone into the gardens will always be a reminder to remember the ones who were before us.
Angel Oak is another beautiful place we visited. This tree is over 300 years old!
THERE IS NOTHING LIKE CHARLESTON
