The Lord is near the brokenhearted; he delivers those who are discouraged. Psalm 34:18 The cold water washed away the sand collected on my blue painted toes. I walked gently in the ankle deep water and heard the crashing of the waves behind me. Looking for the prettiest and most beautiful shells and leaving the others to sink into the wet ocean sand. “It’s perfect!” I exclaimed, as my 11-year-old brother held up one of the softest colored shell my “Indiana born” blue eyes had ever seen. Then as I tip toed through the crisp waters, a light gleamed and sparkled from below the surface. Touching the wet sand as the waters receded I grabbed this thing that caught my gaze. Daughter - "Moms take on it" A daughter is a most beautiful blessing. Some days you can see yourself in her, other days you rejoice in the differences. The "who of the who" Jesus is helping us become - in hopes it will inspire and encourage the "who of the who" He is helping you become. You will see our "alikeness" as well as our "difference" on the blog. It's our privilege to meet you, right here! That's my take on it- here's hers. Mom- "Daughters take on it" A mother, someone whose love is not distanced by our mistakes, One that reflects the heart of Jesus and chooses to see the good. She gives and then gives a little more, thinking of everyone else but herself. Perhaps the most precious gift in her is the friendship we share. Mama has always been my friend even though she took the role of mother first. I can picture her walking me to preschool, my hand wrapped around hers. She was my first friend and she led me to her best friend, Jesus, who has become my best friend as well. In this little corner of the web we write in hopes of encouraging your relationships with your mother or daughter and strengthening your friendship with The One who wants to be a friend of yours more than anything. That's my take on it! What's on the blog? The blog is a collection of beautiful moments … [Read more...]
