Tonight the rain pounded on our trusty roof once again. The lightning and thunder caused uncertainty to spring up in my mind like new poppies in a spring garden. The family had already gathered down stairs and somehow I always find myself thinking thoughts of doubt when things like these occur.
What if the roof falls through. My phone might die before I can find the matches to light a candle.
Water, we need water… Ok, You could have warned me Lord. I really need to have this blog post done before I lose power.
This storm related to me as un-intended things that happen in our lives. They’re like small pot holes in the road that you don’t notice until in all one motion you are flying over the bump and so is your hot mocha. So why do these things happen? Is it just life? Will these small annoying little bumps in the road get any easier. Um…probably not but I do want to share one hope with you.
God is right there with you when life situations occur.
He might not catch your coffee when it’s falling against your newly cleaned car floor but He can help you clean it up. These messy hard life things are no joke. I know but there is no one else I would rather be by my side.
- God can help us pick up the shattered pottery pieces when our vessel is broken and He can clean up the ugly that we don’t want to share with anyone.
They are frustrating, hard, painful and plain out no fun but no matter how ugly or hard they are, God wants to be there with you. WANTS! It’s that simple.
2. God has all of Heaven and Earth to praise Him but He wants you. He came for you and when you can’t seem to even utter a prayer, God wants to be there, to walk with you, to hold you, to love you.
So let Him weather today with you and tomorrow and the next day. His rain coat has no holes, his arms can’t lose grip and He cherishes you with a beautiful love. I cannot even tell you how much joy that brings me.
Now, I’m off to the gym because…Mac N Cheese y’all.
P.S. Oh! Did you want to see more of my favorite city? (AKA Charleston) Keep your eye on me this week through IG @elenajoelle & @breathingroomforthesoul. You might get some lovin’ from that beauty!
